It seems that Senator Obama will be campaigning with Evan Bayh (D-IN) tomorrow in Elkhart, IN. The press have been told that the Obama entourage will remain in Indiana until Wednesday evening, although there are no official campaign events (yet) scheduled for Wednesday. Naturally, this has led to much musing on various blogs (and among the chattering classes on cable TV) that Obama will announce Bayh as his Vice-Presidential choice tomorrow in Bayh's home state. We shall see.
I've noted here several times that I think Bayh is an unlikely choice since the Senate Democrats would lose a seat if the Obama-Bayh ticket wins. (Indiana's Governor Daniels is a Republican who would surely appoint a fellow Republican to fill Bayh's seat.)
Just in case, I like my crow with salt and pepper.

That's a very good point and shouldn't be overlooked. But it's important to keep in mind that Governor Daniels is up for re-election this year and is locked in a tight race (most polls I've seen have Daniels up 2 or 3 points), so depending on when Indiana swears in their new governor it is possible that Indiana could have a Democratic governor by the time Bayh would have to resign. Not something I'd gamble on, but it's worth remembering.
Very good point about Daniels vs. JLT. Yet again, another angle the media have completely neglected to point out. We only get this kind of information on Elect Blue!
I haven't seen any recent polling data in the last month for this race, but I believe he was up by five or six about a month ago.
My gut tells me that JLT still has her work cut out. Daniels is one of few governors to balance his/her state's budget, and he's also touting a $1.4B surplus. "The Blade" won't go away easily, but JLT has a lot of money left. Anyone's game.
